A one man death project from Canada, the superbly named Golgotterath. This is the first demo from Horde-General Aurang and goes by the name of 'Psalms of Imimorûl' which is inspired by dark literature and fantasy as well as the works of author R. Scott-Bakker and named after a series of his novels, 'The Prince of Nothing'. A very rough two track demo which opens with 'Womb Plague', the vocals are raw and savage, the riffs hard edged and often intricate whilst being a little basic on the drumming side of things. However during the demo's title track a more hypnotically catchy element comes into play during the riffs, the vocals get a little darker and the bass becomes far more prominent and drives the track forwards remorselessly. Later, some brooding chugging riffs take over and whilst in places the melody slightly loses focus, there is no doubt that with a little more work and some better production Golgotterath could be rather good! [5 out of 10 but shows promise]
